Randy Bachmann has reeled in another one.

Train Show Inc., the parent company of Greenberg’s Train and Toy Show, the Great Midwest Train Show and the World’s Greatest Hobby on Tour, announced on April 22 its acquisition of Great Train Expo’s assets. Train Show Inc. plans to sponsor shows in many of the venues formerly used by Great Train Expo.

“This is a natural expansion of our business,” said Bachmann, president of Train Show Inc. “This purchase allows us to sponsor shows from coast to coast and provides the opportunity to improve all our shows.”

Bachmann also owns Hobby Show Promotions, which took over management of the annual iHobby Expo in 2013.

Bill Grove, formerly Great Train Expo’s president, will join Train Show Inc.’s management team. Grove has worked in train show management for more than 25 years. He previously held positions at Great American Train Show and Great Midwest Train.

“I am thrilled to bring such a skilled and experienced person to my leadership team,” Bachmann said of Grove. “Bill has many strengths, particularly in the areas of contract negotiations and logistics.”

Grove will work with Frank Hicks and Gale Cousins, whom Bachmann hired away from Woodland Scenics in November.

A new show schedule and a new branding campaign will be posted at www.trainshow.com in the coming weeks, according to the company.
