The opening of a new Oxford Diecast North American office will coincide with the company’s release of new products designed for the North American market.

Oxford announced in a Jan. 28 press release the opening of Oxford Diecast USA, a U.S. subsidiary based in Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minn.

“With more than twenty years in business and over 1,200 items in our product lineup, it’s time to get closer to our dealers on this side of the Atlantic” said Lyndon Davies, president of Oxford Diecast, in the release. “By consolidating our products under one roof, it will now be easier for our customers to carry a broader range of our products, and because that one roof is our own — Oxford Diecast USA — it will also be easier for them to give us the ongoing market feedback that is so important to our success.”

To take advantage of its new accessibility to the North American market, the company recently began shipping its first 1:87-scale models of 1940s and ’50s Ford, Lincoln and Mercury automobiles, according to the release. Oxford also announced its first 1:18-scale model.

“Coming to the United States means more than setting up an office and having domestic inventory, though that is certainly part of it,” Davies said. “Another other important step is the creation of product designed specifically for the North American market.”
