  • Owners Chuck and Betty Pusateri retired and closed J&C Hobbies in Pittsburgh. They operated the store for 33 years.
  • Robert C. Schuh, who owned K-Val Hobbies in Buffalo, N.Y., passed away April 16 at 96. He had only just retired and closed the shop in December 2016.
  • Michael Martens joined IDW Publishing as director of trade sales. Martens is the former vice president of trade sales at Dark Horse Comics.
  • CMON Limited hired Adrian Smith as lead artist, Stefan Kopinski as senior artist and Eric Lang as director of game design.
  • Artist Bernie Wrightson passed away March 18 at 66. Wrightson is known for his work on DC’s Swamp Thing and as co-creator of Destiny, a character made famous by comic-book author Neil Gaiman in The Sandman.
