Board game featured in science publication
February 27, 2017
Weekly publication Science featured the board game Evolution: Climate in early February.
The review was written by Valerie Thompson, who identified Climate's potential role in promoting discussion around climate change, conservation efforts and the impact of extinctions on ecosystems.
"The addition of climate not only adds another layer of complexity to players’ strategies but also emphasizes its role as a vehicle for evolution. Players witness firsthand how species with small populations suffer greater extinction risks when climate changes, especially with major shifts."
“This is such great news to hear," says Dominic Crapuchettes, co-founder of Climate's publisher, North Star Games. "From the beginning we wanted to create a game that was both engaging and as scientifically accurate as possible. Being embraced by the science community and seeing our games featured in yet another famous scientific publication let’s us know that we’ve exceeded that goal.”
Evolution: Climate was designed by Dominic Crapuchettes, Dmitry Knorre and Sergey Machin.
