Tamiya USA launches new website
May 20, 2013
With a goal of improving navigation, Tamiya USA launched its new website on May 8.
Tamiya USA's new website was designed to improve navigation and reduce visual clutter.
“The old site became too cluttered with visual noise and basic design miscues,” said Tamiya’s Fred Medel in an email. “It made it hard to focus on the product. The appeal of Tamiya’s products are the details.”
The new website’s theme is, “A picture is worth 1,000 words,” he said.
Although the new website is live, Tamiya is continuously correcting launch issues, implementing new features and listening to feedback from customers, Medel said.
In addition to a new design, Tamiya’s new website also features a new compare feature for radio control products, plastics kits and Mini 4WD products. Tamiya is also tweaking the back end of the website to improve how it categorizes its vast product line.
“The new site is a step forward,” Medel said, “but there is still a lot of work to do.”
