September 6, 2012
Stevens International announced the third generation of the Bass family to enter the hobby industry on Sept. 6. Alan Bass is grandson of founders Felix and Inge Bass and son of current president Michael and his wife, Debbi. Alan has joined Stevens International as an assistant buyer. He is also developing additional promotion and sales programs aimed at increasing Stevens’ position in the hobby distribution market.
"I am excited to have Alan join Stevens International," Michael said, "and I look forward to what he brings to the table in terms of business acumen and progress for the future."
Alan is a recent graduate of Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pa., earning degrees in both business and psychology.
"Being able to join Stevens International and continue the family business is a great opportunity for me and my family," Alan said. "I am thrilled to be able to work side by side with my father and maintain Stevens’ position serving the hobby industry."
In addition to his full-time position at Stevens, Alan is also a member of the National Hockey League media, taking advantage of freelance writing opportunities within the world of professional ice hockey. Alan also recently authored and published his first book The Great Expansion, a history of the NHL in the 1960s.
He expects to attend upcoming hobby trade shows to meet both Stevens customers and suppliers.
