The board of directors of Kalmbach Publishing Co. has named Charles R. Croft president. Croft has been with the company 14 years and succeeds Gerald B. “Butch” Boettcher, who is retiring.
“Chuck has extensive knowledge of the publishing industry and will help our company move forward using digital and multimedia platforms to complement our leading print magazines and books,” said Boettcher. “He also demonstrates personal values and professional attributes compatible with the company’s long-established culture.”
Croft is a 1985 graduate of Drake University and began his career with Arthur Andersen before going on to finance and management positions at Belarus Machinery Inc. and Frank F. Haack & Associates Inc. He joined Kalmbach in 1998 as vice president-finance & administration and was named executive vice president in 2007.
Croft also serves on the board of the Independent Magazine Group of the MPA-Association of Magazine Media.
Boettcher joined Kalmbach in 1990 and was named president in 1998. As president, he has led the company through a period of unprecedented growth. He will remain on the Kalmbach board of directors as chairman.
