Round 2 LLC owner Thomas Lowe has opened an Auto World retail location in Mishawaka, Ind. Round 2 is headquartered in South Bend, Ind.

The store, located at 6502 N. Grape Road, features shelves of Round 2 automotive, sci-fi and popular culture model kits, die-cast collectibles in many sizes, slot car tracks and accessories, plus many limited edition and one-of-a-kind products from Lowe's personal collection.

Round 2 brands include Polar Lights, AMT and MPC model kits, Auto World slot cars, American Muscle, Ertl Collectibles and Vintage Fuel die-cast.

Customers can see finished build-ups of model kits in display cases around the store, from muscle cars to starships.

An HO-scale slot car racetrack is also in the store, and customers can run their newly purchased cars on it.

"We wanted to provide a place for both expert and new hobbyists to find everything they could want, and we're able to do that locally in our retail store and nationally on our website."

The Auto World name has been part of the hobby industry for more than 50 years. In 1958, Oscar Kowalski founded the company in Scranton, Pa. It originally had a mail-order catalog and a retail store. Round 2 purchased the Auto World name from Kowalski.

The store is open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from noon-8 p.m., and Sundays from noon-5 p.m.
