Right now, you might be thinking about a vacation. It’s also time to think about this year’s iHobby Expo, scheduled for Oct. 20–23.
The event, now in its 27th year, will be at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill. Organizers are expecting more than 200 exhibitors to attend the show, along with 20,000 consumers on the public days.
Online registration for dealers to attend the show is now open. According to Pat Koziol, executive director of the Hobby Manufacturers Association (HMA), booth space is still available for manufacturers. It can be reserved by calling Ed Lamphier at 949-786-8647.
HMA’s Hobby University is back for a fourth year, with business seminars designed to help retailers focus on improving their business. Sessions for 2011 will include a dealer roundtable.
Dealers attending the show can take advantage of the Ticket to Ride promotion offers from many show manufacturers. Ticket to Ride allows Expo buyers to recoup up to 100% of their travel expenses just by placing orders with participating suppliers. Qualifying orders earn Ticket to Ride coupons with values from $10–$100. At the end of the show, buyers submit qualified travel receipts to HMA for reimbursement.
