Revell wins Boy Scouts licensee award
March 30, 2011
Revell Inc., an official licensee of the Boy Scouts of America, has been named a 2010 BSA Quality Licensee Award winner. Revell is a manufacturer of plastic models and general hobby products, and a wholly owned subsidiary of Hobbico Inc. In 2009, Revell introduced Pinewood Derby Kits and Accessories, officially licensed by the Boy Scouts.
The Boy Scouts Quality Licensee program honors licensees who show a commitment to ongoing product development; who adhere to licensing program requirements; and who actively support and promote the organization.
In 2010, Revell worked to promote the Boy Scouts and its programs, which includes supporting the organization's 100th anniversary by supplying model kits to pinwood derby enthusiasts in Long Beach, Calif., and Clearwater, Fla.
Revell has also worked to make its marketing more multi-cultural and environmentally friendly. It redesigned all of its Pinewood Derby packaging into a "tri-lingual" format and reduced the amount of material needed for each package.
“We are proud to support Scouting and its traditions, and look forward to doing so for the foreseeable future," Brian Schmit, senior product manager at Hobbico, said in a press release.
