January 12, 2011
Two years after becoming a team sponsor of the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki supercross team, Traxxas announced that it has signed an agreement with Feld Motorsports to be the official and exclusive hobby-class radio-control truck of Monster Energy Supercross, a FIM (International Motorcycling Federation) World Championship. The new season started on Jan. 8. and runs through September. The move is yet another by Traxxas to use popular motorsport events to promote its brand.
According to a press release, in addition to its high-profile sponsorship billing with entities like CBS Sports, Speed Channel and Honda, Traxxas will also receive exhibitor space within the pit party at 16 races where it will demo R/C trucks for fans.
In another agreement with Feld Motorsports, Traxxas has signed on as the official and exclusive hobby-class R/C monster truck of the Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam. The first two trucks to hit store shelves in 2011 will be Grave Digger and Advance Auto Parts Grinder. Traxxas is working with Feld Motorsports to create a number of “event-based, web-based, and retail-based programs to launch” the new monster trucks.
