Looney Labs wins PGSA "Deck Our Halls" contest
November 15, 2010
The Professional Game Store Association (PGSA) announced that Looney Labs has won its Deck Our Halls contest. The contest invited hobby game manufacturers and publishers to submit plan-o-grams designed to fit into a 4- x 4-foot area for a 60-day promotion over the holiday season.

Looney Labs was chosen by the more-than-30 PGSA member stores participating in the contest. Looney's entry features a plan-o-gram for a 2- x 3-foot bookcase-style shelf display that can be easily hung on the wall. Included in the winning entry are detailed product and decoration lists, decoration instructions and signs that are ready-to-print.
"We wanted to remind retailers how fun and simple Looney Labs games are to display," said Jennifer Powers, sales and event manager at Looney Labs. "The Professional Game Store Association provided this great opportunity where retailers voted on various publishers' holiday display submissions. Just for entering we were immediately getting viewed by these professional retailers; that in itself was worth entering the contest."
Participating retailers have agreed to carry the suggested products and implement the display in their stores. They will report weekly sales data and customer comments to Looney Labs throughout the holiday shopping season.
While Looney Labs was the only game company to enter the Deck Our Halls contest this year, John Coviello, a spokesperson for the PGSA and newly elected to its board of directors, says plans are underway to run the Deck Our Halls contest in 2011.
"We are hoping that by making this a yearly event and by providing additional lead time, we can grow the amount of submissions exponentially," Coviello said.
