Companies to produce models from former K-Line tooling
October 28, 2010
New O-gauge models will be coming soon from former K-Line tooling, according to a release from Bachmann Industries. Hong Kong-based Sanda Kan Industrial Co. Ltd. is allowing Aristo-Craft/RMT, Atlas O and Williams to use the tools to make products under the various firms’ brands.
The three companies met at the Atlas offices in Hillside, N.J., over the summer to discuss which company would get what. According to Bachmann’s Bud Reece, “You couldn’t have asked for a better meeting.” All three companies had an idea of what they wanted to use and due to their different specializations, dividing the tooling was accomplished quickly. Some tooling is common and will be used by all three manufacturers.
Products from the tooling will appear in 2011. Sanda Kan and Bachmann are owned by Kader Holdings.
