PGSA "Deck Our Halls" contest

The Professional Game Store Association (PGSA) has announced its 2010 Deck Our Halls contest. It invites hobby game manufacturers, publishers and retailers to submit plan-o-grams designed for a 4-foot x 4-foot area of shelf space that will be used by participating retailers for a 60-day promotion featuring the winning company's products. The hope is that manufacturers will develop creative plans to spur customer interest and help retailers sell. Sumbissions must be e-mailed to the PGSA in PDF format no later than midnight, Oct. 15.

More than 30 PGSA-member stores in the U.S. and Canada are participating in the Deck Our Halls contest, and have agreed to present products for the winning company in the layout and quantities indicated in its submission.

According to a press release from the PGSA, submissions should include, at minimum, a plan for the space, suggested stock quantities, product layout, required fixtures, and specific promotional and decorative considerations. Also, companies are urged to think about signs, POP materials, audio/visual elements and overall cost to the store to implement.

Participating stores will vote for the submission that they like best, and the winner will be announced on Oct. 25. Retailers will have the displays up by Nov. 5 and keep them stocked throughout the holidays.
