National Scrapbooking Day is May 1. Started in 1994 as a celebration of the craft, the event is held each year on the first Saturday in May. According to the Craft & Hobby Association (CHA), about 35% -- or 40 million -- of 113 million U.S. households scrapbook, rubber stamp, or make cards, and spent approximately $4 billion in 2009 on scrapbook and other paper crafting products.
