Attendance up 5% at CHA winter show

Published: February 24, 2010
Nearly 14,000 industry professionals and craft and hobby enthusiasts gathered at the Craft and Hobby Association's Winter Convention & Trade Show and Craft SuperShow at the Anaheim (Calif.) Convention Center Jan. 24-27.

The show featured more than 6,700 trade show attendees - up from 6,400 at the 2009 winter show - and brought in more than 100 new exhibitors, up 40% from last year.

"The fact that we had nearly a 5% increase in attendees and over 100 new exhibitors is a positive indicator of the strength of the industry and the CHA Winter Show," said Steve Berger, CHA president and CEO.

Despite rains, a tornado watch, flooding and mud slides in Southern California, the Anaheim debut of the Craft SuperShow consumer event was also a success, according to the CHA, drawing 8,044 attendees.

The CHA 2010 Summer Convention & Trade Show will return to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill., July 27-29, followed by the Craft SuperShow July 30-31.
