Rebuilding iHobby Expo

As the trade show gets set for its second year in Schaumburg, Ill., organizers hope slight changes lead to incremental improvements

If the Hobby Manufacturers Association’s iHobby Expo were a sports franchise, it would be squarely in rebuilding mode.

In November, Hobby Show Promotions, which organizes iHobby, brought in a new architect, General Manager Gale Cousins, to oversee the rebuild. The show now enters year two in a new venue, the Schaumburg Convention Center in Schaumburg, Ill. And iHobby took a step forward last year after essentially bottoming out in Cleveland in 2012.
