Mr. Fix-It to the rescue

Repairing busted products — any products — may not provide a direct profit, but that customer service will pay off down the road

It’s that time of year again. The holidays are over, and kids have already broken the blades on their new remote-controlled helicopters — so they head to their local hobby store for help.

But what is a store to do when it didn’t sell that heli? What is a store to do when that heli is a cheap knock-off product from China without any sort of replacement parts?
