Hear from retailers in the know about the pros and cons of installing any sort of operating model-railroading display

In past issues, Model Retailer has detailed how some stores allow customers to test radio-controlled aircraft just outside of the stores. We’ve also highlighted the advantages — and disadvantages — of installing an R/C racetrack. Opinions varied from store to store, but for the most part, dealers said the space and cost requirements of installing and maintaining an R/C track exceeded any potential benefit as a sales and marketing tool. That’s not the case for the model-railroading hobby.
