In November of 1975, I quit the great job I had as a salesman for a large electronics company, sold my home, my car and my beloved American Flyer train collection, and signed my life away to the fellow who sold me Allied Models. It was a dirty, run-down, almost-out-of-business, 1,200 square-foot hobby store in West Los Angeles.
