JMD Plastics and Hobby opening new superstore

Published: December 10, 2015
JMD Plastics and Hobby plans to open a new "model railroad superstore" in Green Bay, Wis.

Scheduled to open sometime in the spring, this superstore will carry model train supplies from Z to G. The new space will also have an in-store layout for the purposes of demonstrations, clinics and training.

Additionally, there will be displays featuring vintage motorcycles and railroad artifacts for the Motorcycle and Model Railroad Museum of Wisconsin. "Unlike most hobby shops, ours benefits a non-profit foundation with the Motorcycle and Model Railroad Museum, not an owner's pockets," says John DeBeck, president.

As of December, the original JMD Plastics and Hobby store is exceedingly busy. "We have so much going on right now with the existing shop, including the big decal buyout of DM Decals, a $100K estate we are helping settle, seven upcoming shows, our normal sales, etc. It's just insane here, which it often is," says DeBeck.
