This year's Trainfest will feature even more floor space.
America’s largest operating model railroad show just got bigger.

Trainfest 2014 has added 15 percent more floor space to accommodate more operating railroads, show organizers announced Sept. 17. The show, which will run Nov. 8–9 in Milwaukee, will now fill two buildings at the Wisconsin State Fair Park and occupy 230,000 square feet.

This year’s show will also feature some new attractions for hobbyists. Attendees will be able to run the trains on nearly 80 percent of the layouts. Milwaukee Light Engineering Society will bring its rideable train. And a selection of free Trainfest Clinics will be offered.

Trainfest will also make a point to highlight many of the “cottage industry” manufacturers that will exhibit at the show, organizers said.
