As part of Japanime Games’ new Retailer Support Program, the company joins a growing list of companies that will now enforce a minimum advertised price policy.

Japanime announced its new two-part program on Sept. 18. The first phase, the minimum advertised price policy, will go into effect Jan. 1. The second phase, a Premier Store Program, will grant select stores special access to promotional support, organized play kits, limited-edition accessories and preorder offers for Japanime titles.

The minimum advertised price policy will require all retailers to offer no more than a 20 percent discount off of the MSRP when selling Japanime products online. The company said it hopes this will reduce retailer concern over the deep online discounts of Japanime products.

The Premier Store Program is available for retailers that have physical locations and host at least one sanctioned Krosmaster: Arena tournament or Tanto Cuore tournament per month.
