Several Team Futaba members will be among the first to showcase model airplanes at the AirVenture Air Show.
Model airplanes, meet AirVenture. AirVenture, meet model airplanes.

For the first time, the Experimental Aircraft Association’s AirVenture Air Show will showcase model aviation.

Several Team Futaba members will perform in front of more than 500,000 people from more than 60 countries at AirVenture’s main air shows on July 30 and Aug. 1.

Matt Chapman will perform as a solo act with his CAP Eagle 580, as a member of a four-plane 4ce formation aerobatic team, and in formation with Team Futaba manager Frank Noll and his 40% Extra model aircraft. Chapman and Noll have performed the routine at modeling events for several years.

Will Berninger will fly his 1/2-scale clipped-wing Piper Cub. Mike Barbee will fly his 138” T-34-B Mentor. Brian O’Meara will fly his 1/3-scale P-47 Sleepy Jean. And Paul LeTourneau will fly his 118” twin-turbine A-10.
