Inaugural Kids India event set for October

Spielwarenmesse eG will organize its own fair in India for the first time this fall. Kids India will take place in the Bombay Convention & Exhibition Centre in Mumbai from Oct. 24¬–26.

The business-to-business fair will showcase toys, baby articles, licensed products, sports articles, leisure and hobby products manufactured in India and abroad. Participating companies include Mattel, Funskool, Simba Dickie, Frank Educational Aids, Chicco, Hexbug, Toyzone Impex, Jasco Handicrafts, Zephyr, Brightway Exports, Hanung Toys & Textiles, Universal Legguard Works, Shinsei, Playcraft, Peacock Toys, Pleasantime Products, Wasan Exports and more.

Kids India 2013 has generated an excellent interest from toy manufacturers’ right from the announcement of the show, according to a press release from Spielwarenmesse eG.

“At the premiere event of Kids India 2013 in Mumbai, we are looking forward to showcasing our upcoming 2014 spring line to our customers, meeting and interacting with potential new customers” and networking with industry colleagues, said Karun Gera, country manager for Mattel Toys India, in the press release.

Said Shree Narayan Sabharwal, business head for Simba Toys India: “The event will give toy manufacturers and retailers a platform to come together to engage on issues straddling the industry and explore growth opportunities.”

Kids India will also host the World of Toys Pavilion, for which companies from Germany, Korea, Macau, Poland and Spain have already signed up.

To organize Kids India, Spielwarenmesse eG has worked with the Indo German Chamber of Commerce, the Sports Goods Export Promotion Council and The All India Toy Manufacturers Association.
