Tonkin Replicas Inc. announced June 19 that it will open a new site July 1 in Europe, according to a press release.

In order to open the new location, the Seattle-based company will enter a joint venture with Industrial Merchandising Concepts B.V. (IMC Branding) from Montfoort, Netherlands.

“For a while, Tonkin Replicas had been looking for a good partner with whom we could create a worldwide organization and continue our growth; especially now that we represent Caterpillar with scale models at an international level,” Tonkin’s Erik Anderson said in the press release.

Tonkin recently obtained the Caterpillar license.

The joint venture, called Tonkin Replicas Europe B.V., will allow Tonikin to distribute the new Caterpillar program along with the full range of Tonkin truck and trailer models.

“I am completely convinced that we can create something fabulous with Tonkin Replicas Europe,” IMC Branding’s Joep Hansen said in the press release. “We share the same strategy and vision for the future.

“Tonkin knows the ropes in China like no other, and this provides major advantages in terms of product development and production lead times.”
