The hobby industry's biggest show is over for 2011, and depending on the exhibitor you ask about trade days, attendance and business ranged from good to slow.

The trade days drew 3,089 total exhibitor and buy attendees, with 1,694 buyer attendees from 797 retail stores/distributorships. This compares to 1,703 retail/distributor personnel representing 886 stores and distributorships in 2010. Exhibitors were 195, with 69 new to the show. They took 489 booths or about 50,000 net square feet of exhibit space.

Public days were well attended, with Saturday drawing 10,657 and a Sunday show-record crowd of 9,362. The total attendance of 20,019 was better than the 19,906 of 2010 but shy of the 2009 record of 20,606.

Show highlights included Horizon's introduction of the AS3X system for micro aircraft, a full-size M5 Stuart tank in the Squadron/MMD booth and products like a new 1:350 Star Trek Enterprise from Round 2.

Next year's iHobby Expo will be Oct. 11–14 at the IX Center in Cleveland, Ohio.
