World's Greatest Hobby on Tour schedule announced

World’s Greatest Hobby on Tour has announced its 2012 schedule of shows. They include four previous stops and one new one. The schedule is as follows:

  • January 7-8: Indianapolis, Ind., Indiana State Fairgrounds (2007 attendance: 30,566)
  • January 14-15: Chicago, Ill., Schaumburg Convention Center (2007 attendance: 24,901)
  • February 4-5: Salt Lake City, Utah, South Towne Exposition Center (2006 attendance: 21,968)
  • February 25-26: Portland, Ore., Oregon Convention Center (2007 attendance: 24,175)
  • March 10-11: Cincinnati, Ohio, Duke Energy Center (new venue)

More than 800,000 people have attended WGH shows since they began in 2004. In 2010, a crowd of more than 41,000 in Chantilly, Va., set the record for the largest two-day model railroad show in the U.S.

The events showcase leading model railroad manufacturers including Athearn, Atlas, Bachmann, Kato, Lionel, MTH and Walthers.
