SmartGames opens U.S. subsidiary

SmartGames, a Belgian-based manufacturer of single-player "IQ building" games, has opened a U.S. subsidiary, Smart USA.

Operating out of San Fancisco, Calif., Smart USA hopes to provide better fulfillment to U.S. retailers, along with better margins and marketing support.

Smart USA has also formed a marketing partnership with Rex Games, publishers of the Tangoes product line. In a press release, Rex Games President Matt Legarza said partnering with Smart USA allows Smart receive the "advantage of [Rex's] established warehousing and operations infrastructure, while Rex obtains greater market presence and a national network of quality sales representatives." It also means that retailers can order both companies' products from one sales rep, get one shipment and one invoice.
