The Hobby Manufacturers Association (HMA) announced a one-year cooperative agreement with the Toy Industry Association (TIA) aimed at providing members in each industry opportunities to explore and grow their businesses by expanding into "complementary markets."

TIA and HMA members will receive discounts at both the iHobby Expo 2011, Oct. 20–23, in Rosemont, Ill., and the American International Toy Fair, Feb.12–15, 2012, in New York City. The hope is to expose manufacturers and retailers from both industries to a wider range of sales venues and products.

In a joint press release from HMA and TIA, Carter Keithley, TIA's president said, “Toy Fair and the iHobby Expo are ideal venues for toy and hobby companies to gain additional exposure, make new connections and open additional markets for their products.”

In the same release, HMA President Mike Bass, said HMA was pleased to work with TIA to "increase exhibitor participation at our respective trade shows." He went on to say this "crossover of product will bring enhanced opportunities for retailers to diversify their offerings and broaden their customer base."
