It might be the middle of summer, but the 26th iHobby Expo is right around the corner.

Scheduled for Oct. 21-24, 2010, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill., the show will include new events for dealers and consumers. With more than 200 exhibitors — including 50 first-time companies — the Expo looks to attract 2,000 trade attendees and 20,000 consumers.

Online registration for dealers to attend the show is now open.

The 2010 iHobby Expo education program offers a timely series of seminars on how retailers can excite their customers and improve sales; how to keep good employees in your store; and getting the most from your website. Dealers will also have a variety of manufacturer-sponsored workshops to choose from.

HMA’s Hobby University is back for a third year, with business seminars designed to help retailers focus on the bottom line. 2010 sessions will focus on the issues of human resources and employee training, and making sure you know your legal rights and estate planning for your retail enterprise. There will also be a special co-sponsored reception and seminar with the National Retail Hobby Stores Association, titled, “Explode Your Sales” featuring retail specialist Bob Negen.

Dealers attending the show can take advantage of the the Ticket to Ride promotion offers from many show manufacturers. Ticket to Ride makes it possible for Expo buyers to recoup up to 100% of their travel expenses just by placing orders with their favorite suppliers. When buyers place qualifying orders, they receive Ticket to Ride coupons from vendors. Each coupon will have a value from $10–$100. At the end of the show, buyers gather Ticket to Ride coupons and all of their qualified travel receipts and submit them to HMA for reimbursement. Expenses included for attendees who drive to the show are gas, mileage costs, parking and food.
