Published: June 9, 2010
The schedule has been announced for the next round of World’s Greatest Hobby on Tour shows. The schedule includes six events; three of them will be in cities the Tour has visited since its start in 2004.

The schedule is as follows:
  • Saint Paul, Minn. — November 20-21, 2010, Saint Paul Convention Center (previously visited)
  • Columbus, Ohio — January 8-9, 2011, Greater Columbus Convention Center
  • Omaha, Ne. — January 15-16, 2011, Qwest Center Omaha
  • Atlanta, Ga. — February 15-16, 2011, Cobb Galleria (previously visited)
  • Edison, N.J. — February 26-27, 2011, New Jersey Expo Center (previously visited)
  • Tampa, Fla. — March 19-20, 2011, Tampa Convention Center

The World’s Greatest Hobby on Tour is a model railroad show designed to introduce the general public to the hobby in an exciting, family-oriented atmosphere. Each show includes manufacturers, hobby shops, operating displays, interactive activities, workshops and provides an in-person introduction to model railroading.

More than 695,000 people have attended the shows since 2004. The shows generally draw crowds in excess of 20,000. Some have been record-breaking in terms of U.S. model-railroad shows; the mark of 40,000 for the January 2009 Philadelphia WGH on Tour event was eclipsed a year later by the one in Washington, D.C., which drew 41,000. For many, it has been their first experience with model railroading.

Admission for all WGH on Tour shows is $10 for adults; kids under 16 are admitted free.
