On a brisk May morning, a dozen drone pilots gather among the trees at Cowdray Park in Midhurst, West Sussex, England. Their noses and fingers red from the chill, they tighten propellers, check batteries, adjust cameras and FPV goggles, and run final flight-control diagnostics. They evaluate the woodland course, yellow arrow markers guiding the way along a winding path threaded through narrow ravines, around hairpin turns and between low-hanging branches. Then it’s time to race!
